The World Evangelical Alliance urges the government of India to repeal anti-conversion laws, to prevent and punish false accusations of forced religious conversion, and to enact a comprehensive legislation against targeted and communal violence, in a written statement to the Human Rights Council 58th session. The WEA also calls on India to address the ongoing violence in Manipur and other regions in the country, and take action to bring about healing and reconciliation.
The written statement was issued on 6 March 2025, in the context of the General debate on human rights situations that require the Council’s attention.
