Italy: Regional Zoning Laws Led to Closure of Places of Worship – Oral Statement at the Human Rights Council

The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) delivered an oral statement to the Human Rights Council’s 43rd session, March 13, 2020, as part of the Universal Periodic Review of Italy, addressing a series of obstacles which made the construction or the reallocation of buildings as places of worship for religious minorities increasingly difficult, if not impossible.

Italy: Freedom of Religion and Belief – Joint Report to the UPR 20th session

The WEA, jointly with the Italian Evangelical Alliance, the European Evangelical Alliance (EEA) and the International Institute for Religious Freedom (IIRF), submitted a report on religious freedom issues in Italy, to the 20th session of the Universal Periodic Review. The main topics were the closure of churches and the recognition of religious ministers.
