Australia: Health, Indigenous Rights, Freedom of Religion or Belief and Freedom of Expression – Report to the UPR 51st Session

On 17 July 2025, the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) and Ethos – the Australian Evangelical Alliance Centre for Christianity and Society – submitted a joint report to the Human Rights Council ahead of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Australia scheduled for January 2026 during the UPR 51st session.

Our joint submission reported on several human rights’ topics in Australia, addressing public health issues relating to gambling, the rights of Indigenous peoples with regard to tertiary-level theological education, and overbroad conversion practices ban laws particularly limiting freedom of religion or belief and freedom of expression.
