On 10 October 2023, the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), the Pentecostal world Fellowship (PWF), the Pentecostal Commission on Religious Liberty (PCRL), and the Anglican Consultative Council (ACC) submitted a joint report to the Human Rights Council ahead of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Eritrea scheduled for 6 May 2024 during the UPR 46th session. Our joint submission reported on the situation of freedom of religion in Eritrea, addressing cases of non-recognized Christian congregations by government authorities and the detention of Christians on the basis of their religion or belief.
