WEA calls people of all faiths to model tolerance and compassion towards other religious groups

The World Evangelical Alliance called for collaboration across faith traditions to promote a shared understanding of how our increasingly pluralistic societies can be inclusive, tolerant, welcoming and flourishing, at the Human Rights Council. The WEA stressed that addressing drivers, root causes, and Human Rights impacts of religious hatred needs to account for the presence and situation of religious minorities.

The oral statement was made at the Human Rights Council 54th session, during the interactive dialogue on the High Commissioner’s oral updates on drivers, root causes and human rights impacts of religious hatred constituting incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence, on October 5, 2023.
