On 25 February 2021 at the Human Rights Council 46th Session, during the Agenda Item 2 General Debate, the World Evangelical Alliance said that the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated religiously-motivated stigmatization and violence in many countries, providing examples form India and Sri Lanka.
