WEA appeals to nations to increase financial efforts to end hunger and achieve food security

The World Evangelical Alliance appealed to all nations to significantly increase their giving to humanitarian organizations and causes against food insecurity in an oral statement at the Human Rights Council. The WEA shared concerns at the insufficient government funding for humanitarian efforts necessary to end hunger and to achieve food security in a global context with multiple crises, including armed conflict and climate-change-related disasters which have undermined the right to food.

The oral statement was made at the Human Rights Council 54th session, during the general debate on the promotion and protection of all human rights, civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, including the right to development, on 21 September 2023.
