The World Evangelical Alliance echoed the appeal of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, to cultivate humanity’s natural reflexes of empathy, justice and compassion, and addressed the situation of the ongoing blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh by Azerbaijan, the deadly violence in Manipur – India, the burning of churches and houses of Christians in Pakistan, and finally the process of transitional justice in Ethiopia.
The oral statement was made at the Human Rights Council 54th session, during the general debate on the oral update of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, on September 13, 2023.
