On 16 July 2024, the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), the European Evangelical Alliance (EEA), and the Italian Evangelical Alliance (AEI) submitted a joint report to the Human Rights Council ahead of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Italy scheduled for January 2025 during the UPR 48th session.
Our joint submission reported on the right to freedom of religion or belief in Italy, specifically with regards to registration of religious communities, the State recognition of religious clergy, and the necessity to promulgate inclusive religious freedom legislation.
