The World Evangelical Alliance urged Austria to ensure that freedom of religion or belief is protected equally for all religious groups, regardless of their legal form or registration status. The WEA also encouraged Austria to further strengthen protection and support structure for victims of trafficking and exploitation, and shared concern regarding the discriminatory treatment of unborn children suspected of having disabilities, who are more likely to be aborted.
The oral statement was made at the Human Rights Council 62nd session, during the adoption of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) outcome of Austria, on 1 July 2026.
